2002 Award for Excellence in Government Information Services WinnerAwarded to Linda M. Curley, Information Systems Planning Manager of the Monroe County Information Services Department for her leadership as Past President of the New York State Local Government Information Technology Directors' Association (NYSLGITDA).

As president of the NYSLGITDA, Linda provided dynamic leadership that will have a lasting influence across the State. She demonstrated the highest levels of leadership, diplomacy, decisiveness, tact and dedicated service for the past four years, bringing the organization to a high level of professionalism. She successfully established a strong working relationship with the Government Management Information Service (GMIS) and was instrumental in forming a New York State Chapter through the NYSLGITDA. As a result, the 2001 GMIS International Conference was held in Niagara Falls in conjunction with the NYSLGITDA Spring Conference. Linda was also instrumental in helping the Office for Technology and The Forum develop stronger relationships with local government.. Linda's innovative approach and dedication also contributed to a major review of Civil Service testing and recruitment rules for technology specialists and helped solve a long standing recruitment and retention.
