JoAnn P. Bomeisl, Vice Chair

Current Position: Director of Application Services for NYS Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.

JoAnn Bomeisl has served at several agencies during her more than 25 years in government, most recently at the State Insurance Department. In addition to managing the Department's technical infrastructure, her latest projects include electronic government activities leveraging web, portal and imaging technologies.

Information Management Interests: Promote a solid technological infrastructure to allow for secure and rapid application development with the ultimate goal is to improve services to clients and tax payers. Current interests include Identity Access Management, VOIP technology and maintaining a fluid IT organization to meet the ever-changing roles required to support the technologies (training and recruitment).

Previous Forum Involvement: Institutional Representative from 1988-1996: Executive Committee member 1990-1992 and 2000-present. JoAnn has participated in many interagency initiatives sponsored by the Forum and OFT. Currently co-chairs the Forum's Security Committee and is a member of the steering committee for the Center for Technology in Government (CTG).

Other: Actively participates in a number of interagency efforts with similarly structured organizations. Ms. Bomeisl acquired a BA degree from SUNY Albany and a MS in Computer Science from Union College.
