How to Get Involved with the NYS Forum - New and Existing Members
Attend Events
The Forum's online calendar offers listing of all Forum activities (meetings and events).
- Executive Committee Meetings
- The NYS Forum's Executive Committee meets monthly (except in August) on the second Friday of the month. The meetings are most often held at The Forum's facilities at 411 State Street, Albany, New York but oftentimes are held in meeting rooms off-site to accommodate attendance beyond the capacity at 411 State Street.
- NYS Forum Events
- The Forum's events deal with an extremely wide wide range of topics of importance to information technology leadership and professionals. To be up to date on what's being offered by the NYS Forum you should make it a practice to check the online calendar.
- NYS Forum Committee Meetings
- Attending a committee meeting is open to you as a member of the NYS Forum. Visit the online calendar for information on committee participation (date, time, location and frequently the agenda for the next meeting) or view the committees sections on this site.
Participate on Any Committee
Once you are a member you can become involved in any one (or more) of the Forum's Committees. View general information on the committees and their work or more specific information on the committee accomplishments and plans for the current year. Once you are a member of a committee you may express an interest in becoming a committee co-chair. Each committee has co-leaders representing the government sector as well as the Corporate Roundtable. In some instances there may be multiple co-chairs from a given sector. In such a case it most frequently represents the desire to share the leadership responsibility more broadly. If you desire to become a committee leader you should discuss it with the current committee leadership or contact the Executive Director of the NYS Forum. Become an Executive Committee Member
The Executive Committee of the NYS Forum is responsible for overseeing the operations of the organization. It includes ex officio members from key organizations in New York State and members elected by Institutional Representatives who are the Forum's liaisons to NY State agencies and affiliate organizations. There is an annual election that fills up to seven seats on the Executive Committee and if you have an interest in running for a seat on the Executive Committee, contact the Executive Director of the NYS Forum or make your interest known to any of the current Executive Committee members.
