- Any governmental entity is eligible to use OGS contracts
- Contract #C-02769 - Environmental Services - 2 page summary handed out. Contract is with Ecology & Environment, an international company with a Wolf Road office. NYS Piggybacked off a federal contract. Available services include homeland security services including planning, bcp, coop, emergency management plans, etc.
- Connie Rissberger of OGS to inquire if a copy of the OGS Plaza CEMP completed by E & E contract can be shared with other agencies (in entirety or scrubbed).
- Contracts do exist (7 vendors) for services to be used in the event a disaster is declared. The disaster needs to be declared by the Governor. The proposal is an open contract (additional vendors can be added) through an application process to OGS. Connie Rissberger to contact Barbara Lilley (State Ed) with information.
- IT Services backdrop contract (Lisa Burns) - pool of 700 contractors. Category for Emergency Planning etc. is IT MANAGEMENT AND PLANNING contains 190 contractors
- Tim Oxbury-Powell - what happened to the discussions with IBM and SunGard which were underway a couple of years ago? Lisa to follow up.

- Committee Co-chairs previously worked with Tax (Kairan Johnson-Lew, Commissioner Eristoff) to generate sponsorship for state-level authority for BCP
- Previously worked with Tax (Kairan Johnson-Lew, Commissioner Eristoff) to generate sponsorship and interest in a BCP conference in Albany
- Greg Benson has recently sent a letter to Michael Balboni, NYS Deputy Secretary for Public Safety to see if we can garner 2nd Floor level sponsorship.

- Emerging Technology Committee
- ETC is interested in pursuing a joint venture to investigate how we can leverage emerging technologies (blackberries, smartphones, etc) to benefit BCP, how can we support local (small) agencies, etc.

- NYS Office of Homeland Security - Comprehensive Emergency Management committee

- Has offered training recommendations, specifically who, what levels, how many participants should be involved within state agencies.
- NYS is to be in compliance (NIMS) by this year. There is an online survey that is to be used to gauge an agency's level of compliance.
- Invitation for workshop (held may 18) was sent to many (all?) agencies.

- Need for Emergency Preparedness in view of recent shootings

- State Ed - has developed a plan that may address this type of situation due to the fact that they have a lot of interaction with the public. Willing to share the plan.
- Agencies are interested in identifying and documenting general protocols of a response (things to do first)

- Develop realistic scenarios for your organization / situation
- Identify vulnerabilities in your plan (business unit plans) and target scenarios to highlight them during the drill.

- Discussed possibility of establishing an OFT (or other) based list-serve to communicate committee initiatives, industry announcements, etc.

- Announced impending local training class - equivalent to BCP 501 offered by New Horizons in late June.
