Agenda and Meeting Notes

Welcome and Introductions:

• Attendees: Peter Finn, Barry Berberich, Jeff Grunfeld, Dan MacIvor, Jim Brennan, Joe Mangano (phone) and Barry Pardee (phone)

Update on February Web Based FormsSeminar Planning Activities:

• Three Speakers have committed to present: Gregory Zink, Higher Education Services Corporation; James Lieb, NYS Taxation and Finance; and John Boyer, IBM (sponsored by Sirius)
• The seminar will be held at the Desmond Hotel at 9:00am on February 26th
• We currently have 170+ individuals registered

Next Steps for "Business Intelligence in Government" Seminars

• Reviewed Jeff Grunfeld's seminar outlines and agreed that there was no need to make any additional changes other than a correction Jeff identified.
• Jim Brennan will submit Seminar request form(s) to NYS Forum Staff and request facilities for May 1st and May 29th
• Jim Brennan and Pete Finn will be identified as point of contact for seminar(s)
• Discussed potential speakers and agreed to the following
  • Jim Brennan will submit corporate speaker request to Forum for both seminars
  • Jeff Grunfeld will seek speakers from State Comptroller and NYC HRA
  • Barry Berberich will contact potential speaker at NYS Health Department

New Items

Next meeting:

• It was agreed that it would be helpful if a summary of the remaining dates for Committee activities was distributed to Committee members. Jim Brennan to distribute.
• Jim Brennan proposed that Committee co-chairs hold a brief meeting prior to each monthly meeting for planning and coordination. A follow-up email will be distributed to co-Chairs to identify potential times.
