Work Group Highlights

  • IT Accessibility - Laura Edlund submitted update - The IT Accessibility Committee is working on two new presentations for the late Summer or Fall time-frame. "Creating Accessible PDF Documents" in late September and "Writing in Plain English for the Web" in November. Our next meeting is scheduled for July 9th at 2:30 PM at the Forum Offices. Please join us!
  • Business Continuity - Greg Benson explained that the committee is organizing a BCP training series
  • Emerging Technologies - Jim Brennan provided update. Second ECM event was extremely successful.
  • IT Greening - Carter Yepsen - Brian Duffy has volunteered to fill a public sector co-chair. IT Greening conference was held. Revisions will be made for next year.
  • Matrix - James Nicol reports no major updates
  • IT Procurement - Art Brown reports there was a meeting June 18th. Staff Augmentation RFP is at Comptrollers Office and release is imminent. Statewide Procurement Council - information provided on Best Practices for Debriefings. Enterprise License Agreements also discussed. OFT is moving forward with these.
  • Project Management - Jon Haverly provided update. Last meeting was June 15th. Last week a session was held on Agile Project Management. Next event will be at GTC East.
  • Security - Bob Spina submitted update - At the next Security Meeting on July 8th, Cisco's Patrick Gray, a twenty-year veteran of the FBI and Senior Security Strategist will explore the current threat landscape by highlighting the newest cyber criminals and examining the latest tactics employed by these predators.
    Gray will address how spammers, phishers, worm writers and hackers interact with this new crime element and how we can prepare our infrastructures to stave off these relentless attacks and protect our critical business assets. Additionally, Gray will touch on chatter in the underground and threats to our critical infrastructures including voice and wireless networks.
  • Small/Medium/Local Gov't Agency - IT Strategic Planning - the group is considering follow up sessions
  • Webmasters Guild - no updates
