IT Procurement Committee Initiatives and Accomplishments

The NYS IT Procurement Improvement committee was created to review and suggest enhancements to the IT procurement process and provide timely education and training.

2006-2007 Accomplishments

  • Active in attempting to understand and disseminate information to the ITCR on the new lobbying laws.
  • Monitored and reported out information and actions of the NYS Procurement Council.
  • Hold a "Doing IT Business with the State of New York" seminar on August 8, 2007.

2007-2008 Projected Initiatives

  • Conduct an IT Contracting Symposium comparable to those held in February 2005 and February 2006 (1)
  • Work with the new administration in 2007-08 on concerns/issues of IT procurement with the State of NY.
  • Conduct a procurement lobbying training session for IT corporate representatives.
  • Conduct a session on the new state finance law purchasing thresholds.
  • Conduct a session on the new personal service contract reporting law(s).
  • Conduct a "Doing IT Business with NYC" Seminar.
  • Conduct sessions on IT procurement for both agency procurement and IT staff and include vendor perspective on solicitations to increase competition-perhaps a modification of the previously offered IT Contracting Symposium (19)
  • Conduct a session to clarify EO8 Minority/Women Owned Business participation as it applies to IT procurement by agencies (14)
  • Work with the CIO Council/OSC to address vendor responsibility to expedite contract approval and minimize non-material based delays (3)
  • Conduct sessions on contract terms and conditions to address the impact on competition (1)
  • Conduct a session on e-procurement
