About
Small and medium size agencies and local governments face distinctive challenges when it comes to building and maintaining IT applications, including web based projects. Due in part to the small size of their IT staff and also restricted IT budgets, many small and medium size agencies struggle to develop and maintain needed business applications.
The Forum recently proposed establishing a special interest group (SIG) to promote discussion about the IT needs of small and medium sized agencies. Additionally, the State Office for Technology 
is working to address the needs of small and medium size agencies on a statewide basis. The SIG will be one way that these agencies can regularly share information among themselves and provide valuable input to OFT. Individuals with expertise in areas of interest to small and medium size agencies will be invited to speak at the SIG meetings. Representatives from large agencies may want to attend SIG meetings, since they often have expertise and systems that could potentially be shared.
