Webmasters' Guild Initiatives and Accomplishments

2004-2005 Key Committee Accomplishments

  • Initiated a very successful relationship with WOW that will lead to many benefits for NYS Web Professionals
  • Held two days of full-day training attended by over 150 individuals over the two days. Day one attendance was 275, day two was approximately 175. 150 of those were individuals that attended both sessions.
  • Held 8 very successful Friday sessions, which averaged 75 attendees each
  • Conducted a survey and follow-up Focus Groups focusing on Web Professionals in NYS

Projected 2005-2006 Initiatives

  • Celebration in October of 10 years of the Webmasters Guild
  • Publication of a white paper on the state of web professionals in NYS based on our survey and Focus Groups.
  • 9 Planned Friday sessions
  • Continuation of the relationship with WOW and possible announcement of the establishment of other such relationships.
  • NEW (suggested at July 15th Strategic Planning Session)
    • Session on using XML as a content vehicle (1)
    • Work with the HR committee of the CIO Council on title issues (8)
