Webcasting Open Meetings

On July 1, 2007 state agencies began webcasting their open meetings in response to Governor Spitzer's Executive Order 3. What are agencies experiencing? What new resources are available to assist agencies to better meet this requirement? Is there any particular aspect of producing webcasts that you find most challenging?

This session provided updates on resources and several state agencies shared their experiences to date. Attendees were encouraged to share best practices and lessons learned. Learn about new procurement possibilities, how to effectively use the State Portal calendar, captioning tips and new facilities available to handle your event.

The New York Network provided webcast services for this live event.

Panel presenters included representatives from the NYS Chief Information Office/Office for Technology, NYS Office of General Services, SUNY/NY Network, NYS Forum IT Accessibility Committee and WGBH (public broadcast station in Boston, MA). Several NYS agencies that have webcast open meetings in response to Executive Order 3 presented best practices from their experience.
