About the Symposium

The NYS Forum and the Office of the Chief Information Officer, in cooperation with the Office of General Services, Office of the State Comptroller, Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Coordination, NYS Attorney General, Department of Taxation and Finance and the Office for Technology sponsored this Symposium which was targeted to New York State government agency executives who procure information technology (IT) products and services, including IT directors and chief information officers (CIOs), chief finance officers (CFOs) and legal professionals.

The Symposium consisted of two, one-day classes designed to increase professional skills in information technology contracting. The course highlighted recent national trends, laws and other business drivers impacting public sector IT contracts, and a detailed update on recent NY statewide IT contracting initiatives. It was also designed to provide professional skills development on conducting technology procurements, including document drafting, bid evaluation, and specialized IT terms and conditions. Panelists provided case studies and practical lessons learned.
