Richard Redlo

Richard Redlo is an Assistant Counsel at the New York State Office of the State Comptroller, where he specializes in governmental procurement, litigation, expenditure, technology and finance matters. Richard authored the Comptroller?s ground-breaking 2004 opinion that the NYS Retirement System would recognize same-sex marriages validly entered into outside New York. He has played a lead role in legislative and other legal efforts to strengthen utilization of Minority and Women Business Enterprises. Prior to working at the Comptroller?s Office, Richard was an Assistant Attorney General for 15 years, working both on litigation and in the management of the Division of State Counsel. He graduated from the State University of New York with a degree in Political Science and from Albany Law School.
