Cyber Security Webcast

A joint program between the New York State Forum and the New York State Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Coordination.

The 3 Things You Should Have Done Yesterday and the 3 Things You Should Do Today to Be More Cyber Secure

In this age of instant communication, we are all connected through cyber space. This connection facilitates myriad positive effects in how we conduct business and interact with each other. We must also realize that because of this interaction, we may be vulnerable if we don't understand the importance of cyber security and implement sound cyber security practices.

A number of programs are underway in New York State to enhance its cyber security readiness and response. One of those programs includes a series of webcast training sessions focused on a variety of cyber security topics. The Office of Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Coordination, in collaboration with the New York State Forum, and the federal government's Cyber Summit, are working collectively to develop and implement the training program and have identified a number of vendors who offered their services, including all members of the New York State Forum's IT Corporate Roundtable (see the list below). Additional corporate partners may be identified as we go forward and therefore this list may be modified over time.

This webcast was sponsored by Microsoft and was available at no charge and was conducted on April 14 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The webcast focused on non-technical tips and best practices for how to ensure that you are cyber secure. The session featured a PowerPoint presentation with accompanying audio.
