The Intranet Schism

Main Presentation

Publicly accessible websites are a visible and prominent link to the public and customers. Tools and policies abound for their development, implementation, and testing. Are Intranets treated with the same level of scrutiny? Are there differences in policy, procedures, or validity? How do you protect your intranet? Is it considered safe simply because it is inside your firewall? Are there similar procedures for updates, tier validation, and management oversight? Are you leaving your users vulnerable to out-of-date information? Is your intranet available to your staff in the field via mobile technology?

Join us for a panel discussion on one of the shadow dichotomies that affects both the public and the private sector. Cathy Kittle (DEC), Vicki Zeldin (DOH), Deborah Snyder (OTDA), and James Reidy (DOH) will take the hot seats as we explore why there might be differences in how we treat intranets.
