May 13th IT Procurement Workgroup Meeting
Wednesday, May 13, 2026 3:30pm – 5:00pm 24 Aviation Road | Suite 206 | Albany, NY 12205 Click here to register for In Person (Speakers will be Presenting Remotely) May 13th Topic: This session moves beyond the common focus on speed in AI-assisted procurement to address the more critical question of quality: how can government procurement professionals ensure that AI-generated Statements of Work, solicitations, and evaluation criteria meet substantive regulatory and policy standards? Drawing on real-world deployments across federal and state government contexts, the presentation explores three interconnected themes: establishing rigorous evaluation frameworks for assessing AI-generated procurement content against acquisition regulations and outcome-based requirements; designing AI implementations that reduce friction for procurement staff by working quietly in the background rather than requiring new workflows or prompt-writing skills; and demonstrating how organization-specific configuration, including agency policies, reference materials, and regulatory context, can elevate AI output from generic drafts to policy-compliant, operationally useful documents. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for evaluating and validating AI-generated procurement content — and a clearer sense of what it takes to move from AI experimentation to reliable, agency-ready implementation.
