May 13th IT Procurement Workgroup Meeting
Wednesday, June 24, 2026 3:30pm – 5:00pm 24 Aviation Road | Suite 206 | Albany, NY 12205 Click here to register for In Person (Speaker will be Presenting Remotely) June 24th Topic: Overview: Our guest speaker will present ideas surrounding process intelligence and AI, focusing on how these tools can be used for optimizing procurement across New York State. While processes are designed linearly, with one step flowing into the next, once processes are launched, there are departures from the original design or the "happy path." These departures lead to bottlenecks and inefficiencies, often hidden from leadership teams. Classic process improvement projects collate information through interviews and focus groups, then produce point-in-time visualizations of how the team thinks processes happen. By leveraging process intelligence, agencies can produce data-driven, dynamic visualizations of how their processes actually run. This surfaces hidden inefficiencies and bottlenecks coupled with their associated impacts (e.g., increased cycle time, improper payments, contract leakage). When resources are constrained, process intelligence provides the transparency to know where, when, and how to improve existing processes and design new processes. In support of Governor Hochul's initiative to incorporate AI, process intelligence adds necessary context to AI models to de-risk the deployment of new tools and improve the return on AI (ROAI). The presentation is designed for both technical and non-technical audiences and will be tailored to NYS-specific processes and terminology.
