NYS Forum Receives AT&T Award

ALBANY, NY - January 6, 2004 -

The New York State Forum of the Rockefeller Institute of Government announced that it was awarded $20,000 by AT&T to support the Forum's information technology educational programs. The programs being developed are targeted to public sector leadership and designed to enhance the general understanding of how vital information technology has become to the routine conduct of state and local government business and as a tool for enhancing both quality and access to services for New York's constituents. Mike Donovan, IT Director for the New York State Police and Chair of the Forum's Executive Committee indicated, "It is extremely important that policy level state and local leadership appreciate the benefits of well-conceived applications of technology as an essential tool for achieving the core business of government. This generous support of AT&T will be of great assistance as the Forum develops programs to help build that understanding."

The Forum represents New York's public sector information technology leadership and staff and has a long history of developing timely education and training opportunities designed to build awareness and competencies in the fast-paced technology environment. Additional information about The Forum and its programs are available at www.nysfirm.org or by calling 443-5001.
