The NYS Forum Announces New Program

The Government IT Leadership Roundtable

(ALBANY, NY February 14) The NYS Forum today announced the establishment of a new program to be known as the Government IT Leadership Roundtable (“Roundtable”). The Roundtable will be comprised of select New York government IT leaders and decision-makers from agencies and other government organizations that are members in good standing of The Forum.

In keeping with The Forum’s historic commitment to provide maximum means of information sharing in support of government’s IT endeavors, The Roundtable’s purpose is to provide a permanent programmatic structure for member organization leaders and decision-makers to meet on a regular basis to explore new technologies and best practices, compare use cases, and assist colleagues in problem solving. In addition to meeting amongst themselves, the Roundtable will also host and confer with other agency leaders, IT vendors, and noted IT subject matter experts.

Forum Executive Director Fran Reiter said, “The creation of the Roundtable is a direct result of interest expressed by a number of our government IT member leaders to formalize what was already happening informally. Its mission is wholly in line with that of The Forum and we are delighted to make this one of our permanent programs.

Forum Board Chair Jim Bell said, “For more than 30 years, The Forum has helped meet the evolving needs of New York government member organizations in terms of education, collaboration, and networking. This new Roundtable is a valuable addition that will benefit not just member organizations, but ultimately all New Yorkers.”

It is anticipated that the first meeting of the Government IT Leadership Roundtable will be held in March 2024.
