The NYS Forum Welcomes Carrie Pause, Associate Chief Information Officer at SUNY System Administration, to its Board of Directors
Carrie brings more than 20 years of information technology and public and higher education administration experience to the Forum. Her leadership, expertise in application development and digital transformation, and commitment to process improvement and innovation will be valuable additions to the Forum’s continued efforts to advance collaboration and technology across New York State. As Associate Chief Information Officer at SUNY System Administration, Carrie leads all application development initiatives under SUNY’s $200 million Digital Transformation Project. She began her IT career as a programmer and has since held leadership and architecture roles spanning financial, human resources, identity management, web shared services, student services, enrollment marketing, and other enterprise systems. Among her accomplishments, Carrie played a key role in developing the SUNY Global ID, a system-wide unique identifier for students, faculty, and staff that is shared among SUNY’s 64 individual campuses and the SUNY central administrative office. She also managed SUNY’s mainframe-to-Java migration, an initiative that saved the system millions of dollars, and led implementation of the SUNY Emergency Alert System. Carrie holds a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems.
