"Human-in-the-Loop: The Role of Humans in AI-Driven Decision Making"

Level: Beginner to Advanced

This session stresses the importance of human oversight in AI-driven decision-making to ensure ethical, accurate, and fair outcomes. Attendees will hear about frameworks for thinking about human intervention, why it is important to consider this aspect of AI as well get insights in strategies for identifying biases, detecting erroneous output or AI-generated hallucinations, and maintaining transparency and public trust in AI systems.

  • Dr. Amy Loomis - Research Vice President for IDC’s Worldwide Future of Work Market Research Service.
  • Tim Law - Research Director for AI & Automation for IDC
  • Dr. Theresa Pardo - Associate Vice President for Research at the University at Albany, Special Assistant to UAlbany’s President, Research Professor in Public Administration and Policy, and Affiliate faculty in Information Science at the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity
