Artificial Intelligence Workgroup Scaling AI Solutions: From Pilot Projects to Statewide Implementation This session will explore how New York State employees can navigate the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence and scale AI solutions across their agencies. Topics will include overcoming resistance, securing funding, fostering interagency collaboration, and ensuring ethical AI adoption. Attendees will gain actionable insights and real-world strategies to prioritize use cases, maintain transparency, and lead AI innovation in their work. Panel Speakers:Gayatri Shenai (Facilitator): Gayatri is a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company and a New York State and city resident. She dedicates her time exclusively to serving government clients, helping them rewire and transform operations by leveraging technology and AI. Gayatri brings extensive experience in guiding public-sector organizations through large-scale transformations. Sarah Miller: Sarah is a Partner at McKinsey & Company and the former Statewide Deputy Chief Operating Officer for the State of Oregon. She is currently leading cutting-edge Generative AI strategy work for state governments, helping them unlock the potential of AI to drive innovation and efficiency. Sarah also has over 28 years of experience in state and local healthcare programs in government and corporate settings. Trey Childress: Trey is a Partner at McKinsey & Company and the former Deputy Governor and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the State of Illinois, as well as the former COO for the State of Georgia. Trey has worked with over 20 states, focusing on public-sector transformations to improve efficiency, customer experience, and organizational health.
