As of February 10th Governor Hochul lifted indoor mask or vaccine requirements for businesses statewide. Following the revised state policy, masks will be optional for NYS Forum events. By now you've probably heard about the American Rescue Plan (ARP) and the Infrastructure, Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), but did you know you can use these grants to fund your urgent cybersecurity needs? In this session, we'll review both the State and Local and K-12 portions of the ARP, as well as the various sources of cyber funding in the IIJA. We'll also discuss allowable uses, how to make the case to fund your cyber initiatives, and what's been successful for other local governments and K-12's.

Guest Presenter:
Laine Cavazos is Rubrik’s National State, Local and Education Practice Manager, supporting Rubrik’s Public Sector customers across the US. In this role, Laine is responsible for Rubrik’s Public Sector contracts, state and local government relations, and grant initiatives. She particularly enjoys helping Rubrik’s state and local customers leverage new sources of funding, such as the CARES Act and the American Rescue Plan.

Prior to joining Rubrik, Laine spent her entire career in public sector IT with companies such as Northrop Grumman, Hewlett Packard, and VMware, working on some of the largest government IT outsourcing programs with the DOD, Federal and State and Local governments. Outside of work, she is an active member of the Colorado State University Extension Advisory Board. Laine holds a B.A. from Penn State and an MBA from Virginia Tech. Laine lives in Colorado with her husband and two daughters.
