The NYS Forum Announces the Establishment of the NYS Forum Training Academy

(ALBANY, NY February 28, 2024) The NYS Forum today announced the launching of The NYS Forum Training Academy (Academy). The Academy builds on a long-standing Forum program that, since 2011, has offered professional training and development courses to more than 10,000 New York government employees whose agencies are Forum members.

Since 2021, classes once offered only in person have been offered via the internet. This method allows for live, instructor-led delivery with levels of engagement that, in most cases, are better than face-to-face instruction, and has resulted in far greater participation.

As participation has grown and the continuing education needs of New York’s government workers change and grow, so too has The Forum’s commitment to serve those needs. Working closely with our government clients, we and our training partner, Soft Ed, have grown our offerings to a level that demanded the establishment of the Academy.

Forum Executive Director Fran Reiter said, “It is the Academy’s goal to provide high quality, industry recognized training, certifications, and assessments at reasonable cost. And working with our trusted partner, Soft Ed, we will regularly source new, need-to-know courses based on the ever-changing needs of government agencies.
